Let joy be unconfined! Print performance is on a two-year high according to the latest stats from the BPIF.
Meanwhile, the country’s industrial output also grew at the fastest pace for two years in June, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Within that, manufacturing production categories across-the-board were up, with print* – wait for it – apparently up 10.1% in June, compared with last year.
As it happens I’ve been speaking to lots and lots of print bosses this week. A handful have described trade as ‘quiet’. The majority have been telling me they are busier than last year, some are way, way, busier. One company was stacked out until Christmas.
As ever, it really depends what you’re producing, how, and for whom.
But I sincerely hope the stats and the anecdotal evidence are right, and we continue with this positive trend.
